About Me
Once upon a time, I had the goal of becoming a Ladies European Tour player and the dream to play for The Netherlands at the Olympic Games. But after the problem started with my spine and after the spine surgery, I found out that it would be very hard for me to travel that much and play that much golf. My body doesn’t allow me to do so.
Already when I was around 6 years of age, I liked doing all kind of sports (handball, golf, skiing, snowboard) and wanted to be involved in the world of sports. That is one of the reasons that I am currently doing a bachelor study in Sport and Marketing in Tilburg at the Johan Cruyff Academy. I am in my 4th and last year, and I really enjoy this study. I would love to start working in the Sports and Marketing after my graduation. During an assignment for school I found out that I also love teaching people the game of golf. Whether it’s teaching kids or adults. Also becoming a teaching professional in golf is still a possibility for me.
Since a few years I am also playing in the EDGA (European Disabled Golf Association) tournaments, which is great, especially to meet people from different countries, cultures and with other disabilities. The players from all over the world competing in the EDGA tournaments are one big family to me. And yes, during the tournament we are competing against each other and we all want to win, but on the 19th hole we go for diner together and do some sightseeing when possible.
